Fine Dining Experience
Dining at Meridian is not simply a meal - it is a 90-minute argument in favour of the ACT's cool-climate larder, made by a chef who has spent a decade learning exactly what this region's soil and altitude can produce. The experience is designed for couples celebrating milestones, solo travellers who regard a great dinner as the best end to a day at the National Museum, and groups of four who want a room that feels private even when fully occupied. What distinguishes Meridian from any other fine dining room in the capital is its refusal to borrow flavour profiles from other cities - everything on the plate comes from within 200 kilometres of the table.
200-Kilometre Sourcing Rule
Every primary ingredient travels no further than 200 kilometres to reach the kitchen, drawing from Bungendore, Murrumbateman, Braidwood, and the Yass Valley's most respected producers.
Eight-Week Rotating Menu
Chef Hartworth rewrites the entire menu eight times a year, meaning no two visits within the same season will produce the same plate - a deliberate commitment to keeping the experience genuinely alive.
Chef's Tasting Progression
A seven-course tasting progression, available exclusively at the chef's counter seats, allows guests to move through the full seasonal story of the ACT from entrée to dessert in one evening.
Private Dining Chamber
A six-seat private room adjoining Meridian accepts bookings for intimate celebrations, with bespoke menu consultation offered 72 hours in advance so the kitchen can personalise each course.
Morning Pastry at Larder & Light
Guests dining at Meridian in the evening receive complimentary access to the pre-opening pastry service at Larder & Light the following morning, before the space opens to the general floor.
Annual Truffle Dinner Event
Each June, during the ACT truffle season, Meridian hosts a single 18-seat truffle dinner - a ticketed event that has become the most anticipated culinary evening on Canberra's social calendar.
